A recent study shows the snacks you love reveal your dream job. Dr. Alan Hirsche, neurological director of
Chicago’s Smell and Taste Treatment and Research Foundation, surveyed more than 18,000 adults, and found these links between job satisfaction, personality and munchies:
- Potato Chip chompers would get the greatest career thrill as lawyers, tennis pros, police officers or CEOs. These competitive individuals have high expectations for themselves and others.
- Pretzel lovers should go for jobs as journalists, firefighters, flight attendants, veterinarians or pediatricians. These high-energy types are easily bored. They bite into a challenge and trust their intuition.
- Tortilla Chip fans make excellent farmers, travel agents, chefs, clergy or news anchors. These perfectionists and humanitarians are always ready to help.
- Cheese Curl consumers would find enjoyment as real estate agents, psychiatrists or producers. They’re formal and proper with a great sense of integrity.
- Popcorn poppers find fulfillment as artists, teachers, truck drivers, nurses, judges or neurosurgeons. They dive right in and take charge and are self-confident, not show-offs.
- Nut nibblers should go for careers as plumbers, architects, sanitation workers, cardiologists or politicians. These individuals are easy-going, understanding and keep cool under pressure.
Cracker snackers should be stockbrokers or race car drivers

Here it is.
The UN-official start to summer is upon us. Memorial day is our starting point for summer fun.
One thing is certain. It’s always a busy time from memorial day until labor day as summer seems to go by so quickly.
I hope you take a little time to pay respects to the fallen veterans. Because of their sacrifices we enjoy our freedom every day.
Also take time to relax and spend some time with family and friends, and get ready for the 50 yard dash known as summer that is about to begin!

American Idol, Adam Lambert and Kris Allen did three songs last night. Adam – the season favorite – was great. Kris’ first two songs were fantastic, but his last one, just wasn’t his song. The notes were too high for his rage. I’m still thinking Kris has a chance of pulling off the upset.
Tonight, not only will we learn who the next American Idol winner is – but we’ll also hear from Lionel Richie, Carlos Santana, Cindi Lauper, Queen Latifah, Black Eyed Peas, Keith Urban, David Cook and Carrie Underwood. Also, look for the rest of the top ten to pop in for a number or two
MORE SUPRISES
Steve Martin will perform a song that he wrote from his musical debut CD, The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Banjo, on the “American Idol” finale tonight. Rumor has it Kiss, David Bowie and Jason Mraz will join the previously announced guests. Stay tuned and set your VCR or DVR to run late.
Lionel Richie says the Commodores will reunite later this year. He says they’ll work on getting some tour dates together after he finishes promoting his latest solo album, “Just Go.” Richie left the group in 1982.

Well tonight the last 2 contender’s for the Idol title will take the stage one more time to encourage us to vote for them.
Adam Lambert is a rocker from Southern california with a theatre background, and Kris Allen is a mellow tenor who appears to be much more laid back.
One thing for certain, they are both very talented singers and this promises to be an exciting couple of evenings coming up.
Get your phone ready and enjoy the ride as we will soon know who will be the next American idol!!

After you finish that workout, grab a cup of joe…

New studies show that caffeine may reduce pain during exercising and it works whether or not the person drinks coffee on a regular basis or not. Caffeine reduces pain because it blocks a biochemical in the body that contributes to pain: adenosine. For more information on the study, visit msnbc.com.id/29975558

It’s still better to be a doctor than a dicer. Food preparation and serving remains the nation’s lowest-paid line of work, while the medical field still offers the nine best-paid jobs in the U.S.
According to the U.S. government’s newly released Occupational Employment and Wage Estimates, based on 2008 data, the typical surgeon makes an average of $206,770 a year. That puts surgeons above anesthesiologists to have the best-paying job in the country.
Internists now earn a little more than prosthodontists (people who make and fit false teeth). Otherwise, the top 10 jobs rank the same as a year ago. The biggest change is a nearly $10,000-a-year drop in pay for natural sciences managers, meaning people who run labs and research facilities.
Within the 25 best- and 25 worst-paying jobs, not much has changed. The best-paying 25 are all the same as last year with some minor rearrangements. Within the worst-paying, one job fell off the list — or, rather, climbed out. Agriculture graders and sorters now make enough to rank as the 26th worst paid job in America. Maybe chicken sexing isn’t quite as bad as it used to be. Replacing them on the list: employment in food-preparation and serving jobs like cappuccino maker and “sandwich artist.”
Overall, the average annual wage in the U.S. was up 3.9% from a year before, rising to $42,270. That is about in line with the 3.8% increase the year before. Perhaps the increase in average wage may continue, if only because of people at the top keeping their jobs as those lower down lose them. After all, Ken Lewis is holding on as chief executive officer of Bank of America, though the bank announced in December it would be reducing its workforce by 35,000 over the next three years.
Want to push your pay up as high as possible? Land a job as a surgeon in Gary, Indiana. The average surgeon there makes almost $15,000 above the national average. Who makes the farthest below average? Waiters and waitresses in Yauco, Puerto Rico, who earn $13,610 a year. Within the 50 states, the big loser would be a counter attendant in a cafeteria or concession stand in Owenboro, Ky., pulling in just $13,810 a year.
Among the 50 states and the District of Columbia, D.C. had far and away the highest average annual salary, at $67,810. Massachusetts, New York and Connecticut followed, all at around $50,000. Puerto Rico has the lowest average annual salary, $24,650 — despite having a cost of living comparable to the District of Columbia. Among the 50 states, though, South Dakota and Mississippi ranked the lowest, at about $33,000.
Postal workers and models will be happy to know that their average annual pay increased more than anyone else’s. Postal workers make 23.2% more than a year ago, bringing them up to an annual salary of $54,550. Models didn’t make nearly as much to begin with, but they’re up 20.4% to $30,160 a year.
The railroad industry got hit pretty hard. Rail yard engineers, yard engine operators and hostlers now make 14.0% less than they used to, the second-largest drop in pay, to $34,840 from $40,510 Locomotive engineers were hit even harder; they now make 15.4% less than before, though unlike rail yard engineers they still make slightly more than the national average.
America’s Best-Paying Jobs (Top 5)
1. Surgeons ($206,770)
2. Anesthesiologists ($197,570)
3. Orthodontists ($194,930)
4. Obstetrician and gynecologists ($192,780)
5. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons ($190,420)
America’s Worst-Paying Jobs (Bottom 5)
1. Combined food-preparation and service workers, ($17,400)
2. Cooks, fast food ($17,620)
3. Dishwashers ($17,750)
4. Dining room/cafeteria attendants, bartender helpers ($18,140)
5. Shampooers ($18,300)

It’s good to be back.
After I got off the air on Monday evening I started feeling kind of “yucky”.
Sure enough I was the latest to pick up the flu bug. After 3 days in bed and a trip to my family doctor (who assures me it was not the H1N1 virus!)But whatever number and letter virus I picked up…it sure packed a wallop!
The ironic twist to this whole story is that with all the attention from the H1N1 that I had been washing my hands every 10 minutes and doing everything we are being told to do to fend off these bugs!!
So I guess even if you are being careful and cautious there are many different bugs out there to zap you when it’s your turn!
I’m back!! and it sure feels good. Have a Great weekend.
