April is Grilled cheese month!!
Did you know it had it’s own month? Well here are a few recipes I have found that will take this classic sandwich to a whole new level for you and your family!…Enjoy!
Grilled Cheese and Peanut Butter Sandwich
2 slices bread
2 T peanut butter
1 slice cheddar cheese
2 t butter or margarine
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Spread peanut butter on one slice of bread, lay a slice of cheese over the peanut butter and top with the remaining slice of bread. Spread butter on the outer sides of the sandwich and place in the hot skillet. Fry on each side until golden brown and cheese is melted - 3 to 5 minutes.
Grilled Cheese, Cinnamon and Apple Sandwich
1 T softened butter
2 slices bread
1 small apple - peeled, cored and sliced
1/2 t ground cinnamon
1 slice american cheese
Place the skillet over medium heat. Spread butter evenly and completely over one side of each bread slice. Arrang the apple slices on the unbuttered side of one of the bread slices. Sprinkle the cinnamon over the apples. Place the cheese slice on top of the apples. Top with the remaining bread slice with the buttered side facing outward. Lie gently into the skillet. Cook sandwich on both sides until golden brown - 2 to 3 minutes per side.
Grilled Cheese, Pickle and Vidalia Onion Sandwich
3 T softened butter
2 slices bread
2 slices sharp Cheddar cheese
1 dill pickle, sliced
2 thin slives Vidalia or other sweet onion
Butter one side of each slice of bread with 1 T of butter. Melt the remaining tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Place one bread slice butter-side-down into the skillet and top with the Cheddar cheese, pickle slices, and onion. Place the remaining slices of bread butter-side-up onto the sandwich. Cook until crispy and golden brown on both sides - 5 to 7 minutes.
Spicy Girlled Cheese Sandwich
2 T butter or margarine
4 slices bread
2 slices American cheese
1 roma tomato, thinly sliced
1/4 small onion, chopped
1 jalapeno pepper, chopped
Heat a large skillet over low heat. Spread butter or margarine onto one side of two slices of bread. Place both pieces buttered side down in the skillet. Lay a slice of cheese on each one and top with slices of tomato, onion and jalepeno. Butter one side of the reamining slices of bread and place and top buttered side up. When the bottom of the sandwiches are toasted, flip and fry until brown on the other side.
